Shaheen Stores W.L.L. (“Shaheen Stores”, “we”) is a family-owned retail chain in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with Bahrain’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018).
1. Information we collect
Contact form: your name, phone number, optional email address, preferred branch and your message.
WhatsApp: when you tap “Order / inquire on WhatsApp” you leave this website and chat with us on WhatsApp; that conversation is governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
Location: the “Use my location” button on the Stores page uses your device’s location only inside your browser to sort branches by distance. Your location is never sent to or stored on our servers.
Preferences: your language choice (English/Arabic) is saved in your browser’s local storage.
2. Social media content
With our own authorisation, this website reads public posts from our official @shaheenstoresbh Instagram, TikTok and Facebook accounts through the platforms’ official APIs, so we can show our own posts and link them to products. We do not collect data about other users of those platforms, and every post is reviewed by our team before it appears on the site.
3. How we use your information
To reply to your enquiries, process orders placed through our branches, improve our product range and service, and keep the website secure. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run this website: cloud hosting, Google Maps (embedded branch maps), and OpenAI (AI-assisted product descriptions, translations and review replies — only product images and text, never your contact details). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
5. Cookies
Public visitors are not tracked with advertising or analytics cookies. A single secure session cookie is used only when our staff sign in to the admin portal.
6. Retention and security
Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Access to our admin portal is password-protected, connections are encrypted (HTTPS), and access tokens for our social accounts are stored server-side only.
7. Your rights and data deletion
You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to its use. Email info@shaheenstores.com with the subject “Data request” and the phone number or email you used; we will respond within 30 days.
If you connected with us through Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, you can also remove our app’s access at any time from that platform’s settings (Apps and Websites / Manage app permissions).
8. Children
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page with its updated date.
